As part of the tackling global challenges honours programme, I took the Enhancing a Rule of Law Culture in Practical Ways course, where we had to design and propose a justice innovation to address an existing justice gap. The issues raised and the skills gained from the coursework (taught by Dr Tamara Takács) inspired me to create the POFMAed dataset. The dataset aims to track every electronic communication affected by Singapore's fake news legislation — which has been condemned by groups such as Human Rights Watch or Reporters Without Borders as a form of media censorship — for reference by academics, media workers and the general public.
